Essay about family eating together
People usually eat 3-5 times a day and spend a lot of time on their meals. What do people do while they eat? They serf social networks, read books, chat with their friends or talk with relatives. And now we are going to talk about the last one.
Eating together with my parents is something like a ceremony for me. We always cook together and I willingly help my mum to make a salad or a cake. I like experimenting with ingredients and texture, it’s really enjoyable for me. Dad cooks a baked duck every week and he taught me to do it. I thought it would be difficult but it was hard only in the beginning. This process, I mean cooking, makes me happy: we laugh and joke so it’s never boring. This unites us and we feel like we’re a team.
When everything is cooked, we set the table and seat together. We share the news and discuss problems, we talk about our day and it makes us closer. During the day we don’t have a lot of time to talk because my parents work and I study at school. So eating together is a good chance to talk over everything. On Sundays our meals are different. We cook something especial: a cake, muffins or pancakes with fruits. We have more time to spend together and I like it.
I think cooking and eating alone is really sad because you can’t share your emotions and you don’t talk to your relatives. Being close to your parents is very important. Family – is a great support. We all need to try to spend more time talking with parents and eating together can be the first step.
